Al Stinson

Al works for the Forestry Research Partnership, which is based out of the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa ON. Al is the Forestry Research Partnership Specialist, Southern Science and Information Section, OMNR North Bay Ontario. (Forestry Research Partnership, Mattawa, Ontario). Currently Director of the Algonquin Section of the CIF. Facilitation and co-ordnation of approximately 120 forest research projects in the past 5 years working in an industrial/government partnership setting. Approximately 27 years working in the field of resource management, holding numerous positions including Senior Forest Technician, Acting Forester, Operations Manager, Native Liaison Officer. His background has included extensive operational experience preparing and implementing silvicultural prescriptions. Participation on numerous forest management planning teams. Preparation of Silvicultural training programs such as the Ontario silvicultural tree marking certification program. Participation on research project teams providing operational input, and project coordination and guidance. Participation on teams preparing provincial level guides. Al is a graduate of the Forest Technician Diploma program at Sir Sandford Fleming, and has also completed a number of the Ontario Professional Forester Exams.
